Traveling Quick Tips
However, let us begin with some quick tips that can help you get started and get you going, the rest of the things you can add in whatever you need.
- Have a small backpack/suitcase
Ensure that you have a small suitcase at all times that you can carry with you and in case you are a heavy packer, you will need to learn to pack and travel light. Since it’s not a lot of fun lugging a heavy suitcase everywhere. You don’t want to carry stuff that you won’t use.
- Pack Light
There is nothing wrong if you wear the same clothes for a couple of days. While packing this logic will help you so that you are packing only half the amount of clothes that you think you will need. Make a list of essentials and only take 50% of the stuff.
- Have an early start
Most of the attractions start early and the best part about reaching early is that you get the whole place to yourself and you can enjoy yourself. Also in the diffused morning sunlight the view and the pictures are amazing to get clicked. So make the best of it.
- Meet the locals
Enrich your travel with all the insights that you can get about the place. Try and avoid other tourists and try and interact with the same. English is a global language and most of the times spoken globally. If that doesn’t work, then there is sign language. Either way, try and understand more about them.
- Take lots of photos
Not every time would get the chance to visit the same place again and again. You would probably visit the place only once and it would a once in a lifetime experience to see the place and eat the local food. Ensure that you take loads of photos. Don’t worry about how you look or what people say. Enjoy yourself and be yourself. Get behind the shutter and take loads of photos. These are memories that you would treasure forever.
- Don’t Panic
If you get lost don’t worry. You will find your way. If you heard about a place and have trouble getting to the place, don’t panic and don’t give up. You just haven’t found the way. Don’t let people discourage you and tell you its impossible. Keep trying and at the end, you will find your way.
The best way to see any place or explore any places it to just start walking. Don’t have a destination in mind and just continue on foot. This is where you will see how the locals live and work. If you are worried about stumbling into dangerous neighborhoods, that would not happen. When you are walking about, the locals notice and they would warn you if the area ahead should not be visited.
- Don’t plan
Sometimes just don’t have a plan. You can reach the place and then decide how to take this further and where to go next. There is no limit to the number of days that you spend at one place. If sometimes fine not to have a plan. Just take the day as it comes. You never know what you might find something interesting to see and explore or you might get invited to see a place you didn’t know existed. Say “Yes” on an impulse and go ahead enjoy
- Eat the local food
You would have probably eaten every type of food irrespective of wherever you reside in the world. However, go out in the night and check out the local vendors. Eat the street foods. You never know whether you would get to try it again. Don’t worry about getting sick that is rarely going to happen.
- Carry extra cash
Ensure that you carry the local currency wherever you go. You never know where you might land up and suppose there are no ATMs and also if the cards didn’t work. You actually have the cash that you can work with.
Do everything and anything that you can think so. Smile often and even at yourself. All you need to do is learn to enjoy yourself. There are no right and wrong things about traveling. It all depends on what you want to do and how you want to enjoy yourself. Ensure that you make loads of memories.
